Bummers!

Psycho relatives are constant across cultures. Be it any state, religion or country. But compared to other cultures,   we, Indians give a lot of importance to relatives in our houses.

India, being a patriarchal country, relatives from the father's side always gain an upper hand over the children at home and give them free gyan. Specially sisters of father top the race. They are always ready with their set of advice. The same is the case with me. My maniac aunt visits us very often with the sole purpose of educating her brothers' children.

She has two sons who are mediocre at studies. Both of them flew to America after their engineering for they did not get any sort of placements when the software is at its peak. Having done their graduation there, thanks to the consultancies, they got into some jobs with their fake experiences. That is when she is back into action. I on the other hand topped my college and got a very good job. After working for two years, I quit my job and planned to go for MBA. But my fate has it the other way. I got rejection letters from the universities.

Now that I have lost one year and I am back to square one, I am again in search of good job. She used to call me every now and then and bother about my admissions more than my parents and I. The moment I started getting rejection letters, she took keen interest in criticizing my decision of quitting a good job and opting for MBA rather than MS. I tried to avoid conversations with her by just not picking the calls. But then my adamant aunt used to come home and offer me free consultancy services regarding my career and also asked me to seek advice from her intelligent sons.

Now that she is going abroad to visit her sons, only God can understand the plight of all of us around her.

I guess many of you too have had similar experiences with relatives of this phylum.

Please write to me regarding those.....
